Objective
This project aims at decreasing the energy consumption in the fields of industry taking into account the production requirement.
Furthermore, the project enables to control the power peaks required by the consumers and more particularly the electric arc furnace that uses a lot of energy.
The control and reduction of the consumed energy bring about a decrease in the secondary electric station such as the thermal stations that are determining factors in the air pollution.
The quantity of energy consumed by an electric furnace highly depends on the quality of scrap iron. In the present state of our knowledge in the field of scrap iron; we have only pragmatic approach of the question.
The working point of an electric furnace depends on the quality of the scrap iron.
This working point will be the main input data for our pilot system equipped with neuronal network.
After the training period, the system could determine with more precision than today the electric energy and others to be used avoiding the power peaks.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
