Objective
Application of a personal computer as supervisor for optimum control of refrigeration plants to save energy in a brewery.L%
The refrigeration plant is now monitored from a central control room which has greatly improved working conditions for the operators. Historical data, available from October/November 1991, are used to improve refrigeration plant control.
The system consists of a PC connected via interfaces to measuring sensors in the installations and at different consumers. At first a pre-study will be started, 2 installations of equipment, tests, implementation of process control functions; expected energy saving 10% (1000 MWh/year). The system must be able to function in a local area network.
Innovative aspects : readily available compenents, cheap system, one overall optimizing control system, simplified controls deduced.
