Objective
Partners PROMOTE is an initiative of 5 partners spread over 4 countries: Project Co-ordinator: ROC Oost Nederland department commercial courses (NL). Partners: Handwerkskammer Bildungszentrum Münster (D) Edinburghs Telford College, department Art & Design (UK) Mjärdevi Science Park (S) Edu'Actief Publisher B.V. (NL) Main goal. Main goal of the PROMOTE project is to use open employee training, which affects a wide range of employees in the SME's, as an instrument for catalysing and stimulating the use of MM. Open employee training with the use of MM can and will serve as a vehicle for the use of multi-media in other SME business services as marketing, (transnational) communication, corporate promotion and product branding. Both SME's in the content industry as in some technical areas are been seen as targetgroups. Products and service. To catalyse MM for SME's by use of employee training, PROMOTE plans to develop: A. Two types of MM-products (on CD-ROM and "on-line" over an Internet server) 1. A modular MM-course "Producing cost-effective MM in your own organisation". This course is to learn companies how to produce easily and on low-costs basis their own, high performance MM-productions/services. This product is mend for SME's in the content industry in particular, but can also be used by other SME's. 2. 12 MM-courses in the technical vocational area. Main areas will be mechanical engineering, electro-technics and civil engineering. All courses will be developed according the new European levels for vocational jobs. B. A on-line WEB service to facilitate dissemination, to improve access, to provide the products and to ease updating and maintenance. This WEB-site is mend to ease the spread of information about PROMOTE-products (by presenting "demo's") and other suitable MM-products and providers for the SME's. A second function is the on-line access of the products, the providing and the maintenance. An inventory for the possibilities to offer this WEB-site additional to small (client) companies in the content industry is planned in the definition phase. This WEB-site will be build with the use of use JAVA and dynamic database technology.
