Objective
This project deals with physics using the high spin Ip = 16+ isomer 178m2Hf as targets. The high-spin state is the only one with a long period (31 years) and with a relatively low excitation energy. It was a challenge to produce it in reasonable quantities. Within the framework of a Dubna-Orsay collaboration, the first successful attempt to produce this isomer was achieved as a result of the unique possibilities of irradiation with intensive beams existing at JINR-Dubna. Up to now it has succeeded in producing 2 1015 atoms of this isomer with an isomeric ratio as high as 5% and its isotopic separation has performed with high efficiency (25%).
Preparation of targets of the isomer will allow for its use as a probe to study many nuclear phenomena in a new way. A wide research programme will involve about 80 scientists from 10 Russian institutes and INTAS member countries.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
