ERCIM-NIS co-operative network in informatics and applied mathematics

Objective

The European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics (ERCIM) will set up an office in Moscow to facilitate work on joint scientific projects. The office will provide computers and scientific documentation.

All the participants in the joint research projects will be able to use the facilities of the office which will also organise meetings, workshops and seminars of common interest.Research will be focused on the following topics: computer assisted mathematics, numerical mathematics and informatics.

Research results obtained in each of 16 specified tasks will be presented in joint publications and at East-West workshops and conferences. It is expected that, at the end of the project, each participant will have a much better knowledge of the research done in the other countries and of the organisations with which it will be worthwhile to co-operate in the future.
