Objective
The research work of the project can be grouped into four complementary sets of measures aimed at preventing human errors and organisational failures in industrial systems: the development of on-line operator support and error prevention systems; the development of off-line operator error prevention training systems; the setting up of organisational and management safety measures; and the elaboration of recommendations aimed at adapting these three kinds of safety measures to central and east European organisational (industrial) environments.
Contributing to the general objective of increasing safety and reliability of high-risk industrial systems, and consequently of ensuring health and safety Europewide, the network offers financial, economical and social interests for west and east European industry, and further for the whole European Union.
The expected results will include a methodical description, software diagnosis and preventive methods elaborated during the research; a review of research approaches to analysis and prevention of human errors in Russian applied studies, with reference to western research approaches, and empirical data and results of critical situations and accidents.
