Combinatorial questions in model theory

Objective

This project will extend the collaboration which already exists with the Kazakh model theorists, notably in France, by bringing in two British centres of model theory.

The main aim is to support Kazakh model theory in two ways: by supporting the visits of a model theorist from Karaganda to Lyon, and of a model theorist from Almaty to Leeds, to carry out joint research; and by supporting three teams of Kazakh model theorists to do research in Kazakhstan in consultation with Western model theorists.

The main areas of collaboration will be: automorphism groups of models, stability theory (both classical and geometric), quasi-finite axiomatisability, Horn and related formulae, and the development of ideas of the late Tulendy Mustafin.
