Objective
The objective of the project is to provide a communication network for scientific teams in fields of geophysics and adjacent fields of physics and mathematics. Many databases containing geophysical observations have been created and are available in the NIS, including earthquake catalogues, catalogues of electromagnetic observations, geodesic and gravimetrical data and digital seismograms. These databases have not been systematised and there is duplication of effort among the organisations preparing them. Many computer packages have been developed for statistical analysis, signal enhancement and solving of inverse problems in the field of prediction of natural and technological catastrophes. The development of those programs and algorithms has been even more time-consuming than the creation of the databases.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
