Objectif
The essential conclusion from research into the area of cultural information in the NIS is the need to create an up-to-date system in order to rectify the focused deficiencies. This could not be undertaken by a single body but needs in the first place to be worked out by a competent Russian institution co-operating with western partners who can give necessary aid and advice. This is thought of as a bilateral databank project, in which the partners act in close co-operation.
This partnership will aim to create and operate a databank of 20th century Russian and Soviet culture, such as literature, art, theatre, film, and general information on the country as well as culturally contiguous social fields. The databank will be given the same structure in Moscow, Bochum and Paris.
The databank will contain bibliographical items, cultural information and texts about modern literature, art, theatre, film and general information about the country, corresponding critical politico-cultural texts as well as biographical information on the main figures of cultural life.
The creation of a basic databank will facilitate research on all the central cultural realms and related topics of the post-war era. This databank is designed for scientists, journalists and publicists, as well as for users generally interested in culture and social politics.
