Synthesis, structure and affinity for receptors of the central nervous system of the aryl(hetaryl) piperazine derivatives

Objective

Phycopharmacological properties of aryl- and hetaryl-piperazines are stimulated by their interactions with serotonine and dopamine receptors of the central nervous system. Structure-activity relationships and the affinity to the receptors mentioned above of these substances reveal their topological characteristics. This approach might serve as the foundation for the direct synthesis of the compounds with the search set of phycopharmacological properties.

In the framework of this research the synthesis and the structural investigation of aryl- and hetaryl-piperazinylalkyl naphtalimide derivatives will be carried out with the consequent analysis of their affinity to the serotonine and dopamine receptors, and the structure-biological activity relationship established. Their structure will be determined by means of a great number of methods like X-ray, single crystal and powder analysis, IR, UV-VIS-NIR optical spectroscopy, mass spectrometry analysis. The new information obtained during the investigation will be used for the molecular design of phycopharmacological substances with the new complex of properties.

The steps of this project may be summarized according to the following scheme: synthesis > structure > biological activity > receptor structure > directed design of the medical systems

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
