Asymptotic methods in theoretical mathematical physics

Objective

The main objective of the project is to enhance collaboration between different scientific groups in Western Europe and Russia working on asymptotic methods and their applications in various problems of mathematical and theoretical physics.

The major directions of investigation are : semi-classical asymptotics and semi-classical quantisation with application to asymptotic spectral analysis of Schrödinger operators, to hydrodynamics and magnetohydrodynamics, and to the general study of tunnelling effects; stationary phase method on Hilbert spaces and the method of the Feynman path integral; development of asymptotic methods for the study of stochastic and quantum stochastic equations; many-particle approximations with applications to quantum stochastics, superfluidity and superconductivity.
