International symposium devoted to the 90th anniversary of the Nobel Prize awarded to Academician I. P. Pavlov

Objective

The International symposium, which takes place in St. Petersburg, will be held as the first initiative of the Council of the Pavlov International Scientific Centre (PISC). PISC was formed in 1993 as part of the Pavlov Institute of Physiology of the Russian Academy of Sciences with the purpose of initiating and extending international co-operation with scientists around the world in a joint effort to develop the scientific heritage of I. P. Pavlov.

Western Europe is supporting the preparation, holding and follow-up of this conference. Several speeches will be given in the three main research areas initiated by Pavlov namely the Physiology of Visceral Systems, Physiology of Digestion and Physiology of Higher Nervous Activity. Each of the lectures will be reviewed.
