Investigation of principles and mechanisms of material treatment process with concentrated energy flows and development of scientific and technological principles of manufacturing materials with improved operational characteristics:

Objective

The purpose of the project is to investigate principles and mechanisms of modification and forming metal and composite structures under plasma flows and laser radiation and to develop scientific and technological principles of making compact powder materials with improved operational characteristics on this base.

1. Studying of the effects, principles and mechanisms of effecting plasma flows on compact powder composites based on metal and ceramics.
2. Studying material structure and properties depending on the conditions of their plasma treatment (in accordance with clause 1).
3. Developing scientific and technological principles of manufacturing materials with improved operational characteristics by plasma surface treatment and plasma coating (in accordance with clause 1).
4. Studying principles and mechanisms of powder coating based on metals, ceramics, glass and polymers by laser treatment, as well as their laser baking on substrates of various compositions.
5. Studying material structure and properties depending on their laser treatment ( in accordance with clause 4).
6. Studying scientific and technological principles for the manufacturing of materials with improved application characteristics by selective laser surface treatment and by laser powder coating spraying ( in accordance with clause 4).
7. Developping guidelines for industrial applications.
As a result of the fulfilled investigation there will be chosen the most promising powder materials and compositions to spray coatings followed by plasma and laser treatment and producing three-dimensional

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.
