Mechanics of contact interaction and fracture for bodies with coatings

Objective

Contact problems in the theory of elasticity for bodies with transversally inhomogeneous coatings will be solved.

Areas of possible plastic deformation and cracks in bodies with coatings due to contact interaction will be determined.

Theoretical investigation of fracture for bodies with coatings due to contact interaction will be fulfilled.

Criteria of the loss of efficiency for bodies with coatings will be developed.

The plasmotron sputtering method fo deposition of coatings with prescribed thickness and strength of adhesion will be developed.

Experimental investigation of contact processes, wear and fracture for bodies with coatings will be carried out.

The principles for choosing the coating thickness, coating and base materials with allowance for the exploitation conditions of bodies with coatings will be formulated.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
