TRADERS ENVIRONMENT DEMONSTRATION PROJECT FOR BANKS AND INVESTMENT COMPANIES IN EASTERN EUROPRE AND NIS COUNTRIES

Objective

The main objective of the INCO demonstration project TREND is to provide a modern trading environment customised to the needs and requirements of banks and investment companies in Eastern Europe and NIS countries. The project will demonstrate applications of recently developed European technologies in the banking environment.

The consortium consists of the technology providers Wall Street Technology GmbH (WST), Germany, and MTI Trading Systems, U.K. as well as of participants, for which a demonstrator has already been implemented, namely Saulusbank, Latvia, Infobank, Belarus, and SAFI S.A. Romania.
The demonstrators will consist of the basic information platform Open Trade Compact, provided by MTI Trading Systems, which is going to be adapted to the needs and requirements of the Eastern European participants involved, in particular regarding data feed, interfaces etc., as well as of the tools and techniques developed by WST's predecessor IFS in the framework of the banking application of the ESPRIT III project HANSA (6369). These tools will also be adapted to the requirements of the demonstration sites, in particular regarding the currencies and assets to be handled by the trading environment.
