Exploitable results
SIMES integrates the various tools needed for the acquisition, management, processing and dissemination of (full multimedia) information related to the environment. It is dedicated to environmental monitoring systems dealing particularly with the dynamics of socio-ecosystems, the exploitation of renewable resources, and the impact of human activities on the environment, with a first area of application in sub-saharian Africa. It provides a "generic information system" in the form of a toolbox to be used by these monitoring systems to implement their own information system. The result facilitates the networking of all information produced by the numerous research operations and development projects in this field. SIMES results are critical for any business development related to the marketing and brokering on the Web of environmental information along with related added value services like specific processing know-how.
