TRANSnational TRaining and ACCreditation of sme national contact points

Objective

Craft national focus points proved their value in FP4 in providing information and assistance to SMEs to successful participation in Exploratory Awards and Co-operative Research. Beta SMEs to successful participation in Exploratory Awards and Co-operative Research. Beta Technology, the UK NCP, has developed promotional assistance and liaison methodologies as a model approach to assisting SMEs. Working together with three other experienced NCPs it is now proposed to document methodologies as a system of best practice across Member States and to encourage the implementation of ISO 9000 accredited procedures in Member States and Associated States. This will involve mutual intensive training of National Contact Points to raise their effectiveness for SME support in FP5. European added value and benefits to SMEs are expected to be very great if the project achieves its objectives. 15 countries and nearly nine person years of activity are involved in this 1.537 Meuro Project.
