Identification of SMES technological needs and MArket TRENDs

Objective

MATREND aims at emerging and increasing the technological needs of SMEs. The full work process will be complex, since it is based on the gathering of data, individual meetings with SMEs, in order to obtain a diagnosis that shows the general maturity level of SMEs vis-à-vis innovation, and the consequent degree of adaptation of the company organisation to the new technologies. Processes will include technological audits, essential both for a better understanding of the latent needs of the SMEs and for facilitating their access to new technologies. MATREND will help to simplify access for SMEs to information on innovation and RTD results and help to improve their use of the local, national and European Innovation supply system and to use the V Framework Programme with the collaboration of the national contact points. Particular assistance for SMEs concerns information and training on more suitable EU programmes (focus on FP5).
