Objective
Micro and nano (precision) technologies are evolving from a challenging research subject into industrial products in a variety of applications, with markets growing at least at 20% per year. Minatech project will update technologies and markets world-wide past surveys, compare them with SME needs (collected through audits) in 8 EU countries and disseminate all these information to SMEs in the application areas of automotive, information technologies and telecommunications, health/biomedical instrumentation, all high tech and quick growing areas, with already extremely important sales. Such an action is made with the aim to foster the use of micro/nano technologies to make EU companies more competitive. By means of seminars, information on websites, newsletters and technical journals, brokerage and technology transfer events the project will promote EOIs and applications to EU Exploratory Awards, CRAFT and RTD Projects.
