Objective
CERAMICRAFT is an initiative within the Economic & Technological Intelligence programme to promote the use of CRAFT and other SME Specific Measure opportunities by the ceramics industry in Europe. The project will address the problem that the ceramics industry in Europe is fragmented, with many small companies competing with each other in local markets. In general they do not collaborate to compete more efficiently with imports from non-European suppliers or to export more aggressively. A consortium of NCPs and specialist ceramic RTD performers [CERLABS] from 11 countries will collaborate to determine and co-ordinate the business & technological needs for future prosperity and to encourage & facilitate the preparation of proposals for Commission funded RTD projects. The ultimate objective is to submit 40 CRAFT Exploratory and other proposals focussed on the key business issues. In addition, professional assistance will be given to SMEs who are currently engaged in EC funded projects.
