Manufacturing, engineering and service status electronically negotiated for greatly enhanced response

Objective

MESSENGER will deliver advanced electronic communication of information between manufacturing organisations and their service networks, including extended enterprises and non-affiliated SME agents. An XML and XSL migration from EDI, an XML defined relational database meta language, an XML information processor, an intelligent search mechanism, a 3D/multimedia extranet, MPEG-4 compression, and LDMS radio transmission with WAP protocols, will be developed to transmit engineering data, including full technical manuals plus updates, to the service network and to receive back spares orders, consumer guarantee claims, product/service complaints and fault/repair information. This feedback will be routed for co-operative engineering to design, manufacturing and accounts departments, providing a mechanism for tracking actions to correct the situation for future deliveries by improved production processes and/or redesign, with management accounting for costs of problems and solutions.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
