Objective
B2B-ECOM innovates the delivery of content for intelligent catalogues between electrical equipment component manufacturers and their supply chain partners, involving major players who's customers are most often SMEs. The MM content is rich and needs to be personalised for delivery to European regions and end-users. B2B-ECOM develops a framework for catalogues that promotes interoperation and reuses applications and services. B2B-ECOM is based on standards, brings together results from EU-research and provides missing links to make standards work together and come alive. B2B-ECOM will boost E-Commerce. B2B-ECOM connects players within supply chains and empowers them as partners to jointly enhance consumer relationships, feedback and services. Attractive catlogues and online services will emerge and revolutionise engineering at SMEs. Major European players will experiment whether barriers for take-up can arise from socio-economic aspects and build critical mass in anticipation of market maturity.
OBJECTIVES
Innovate and improve the delivery of personalised content for catalogues throughout the whole supply chain. Integrate within attractive online catalogues intelligent information, design and E-commerce services offered by players along the supply chain. Provide interoperable solutions and contribute to open standards. Improve the attractiveness of online catalogues, the access to information and services at SMEs corresponding to their personalised needs coming from European regional diversity. Supply and validate the generic technology within the domain of electrical equipment components. Integrate a whole supply chain from manufacturer through to distributors and then to the installers. Assist take-up of results and boost E-Commerce within the whole European electrical equipment sector. Identify and lower barriers for take-up, provide take-up guidelines and build critical mass in anticipation of market maturity.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
B2B-ECOM will develop, integrate and validate standards, prototype software and guidelines for: an innovative delivery of technical and business data for intelligent component catalogues between manufacturers and their supply chain partners; technology for personalisation of online catalogue content, structure and presentation; Interfaces to integrate adaptable design, configuration, information and E-commerce services. B2B-ECOM is based on standards. B2B-ECOM will provide synergy between research resuls coming out of previous EU-projects concentrating on information services and link them to results of US-initiatives mainly concentrating on interoperable online E-commerce services. B2B-ECOM will integrate different standards and provide for the missing links to make them work together. Usability professionals will guide the project from the gathering of the requirements, to the specification of the development towards the realisation and pilot demonstration. B2B-ECOM will validate how the result enable to support the individual needs of the customers coming from the European regional diversity and enable SMEs to highly improve efficiency. B2B-ECOM technology allows to transform this supply-chain process fundamentally and new business models and ways of trading will emerge from this. The project connects key players within the information and business chain. B2B-ECOM will explore and evaluate how existing roles can best adapt to the changing online environment, how resulting E-commerce applications can empower them as partners and can allow them jointly to enhance consumer relationships, feedback and services. Socio-economic questions will be raised so that barriers for exploiting the results can be identified and lowered. By its concentration and dissemination measures B2B-ECOM intends to bring forward state-of-the-art in the whole electrical equipment domain allowing other organisations to benefit from the project results.
All parts have been calculated and designed with CAD during the first project year. In the second year it was tried to manufacture a first prototype of the ceramic receiver, but this goal was not reached. According to the demands of the Stirling process it was necessary to design and built a special combustion system. This special burner was tested successfully in laboratory.
