Exploitable results
A number of software packages for Data Mining / Knowledge Discovery from Databases are already capable of (or will be with upcoming releases) importing and exporting data mining models such as decision trees, neural networks, or association rules. The format for the import / export is a recently emerged industry standard based on XML. This standard is called PMML for Predictive Mark-up Modelling Language and is promoted and developed by the data mining group (see http://www.dmg.org ).
Within the SolEuNet project, we have developed a vendor independent PMML visualizer that can be used to display, evaluate (and in future releases) to edit PMML models. Evaluation result can also be plotted on an ROC (receiver operator curve). This software enables non-expert users to work with PMML models without the need to purchase and learn an expensive and complex data mining tool.
