The European Information Society Technologies Prize 2000 and 2001

Objectif

Organise the European IST Prize in the years 2000 and 2001, taking into account the experience acquired during the last five years and the objectives of the IST Programme. The Prize will contribute to enhancing the impact of the IST Programme, by promoting excellence in advanced technologies that are crucial to the Information Society, by accelerating their take up and broadening their fields of application and, therefore, reinforcing the competitiveness of European Industry. The European IST Prize organisation will involve 31 countries (EU and Associated States and Switzerland).

Work description:
The work is carried out by the Euro-CASE Secretariat, assisted by the 17 Euro-CASE member Academies. The Winners exhibition and the Awards ceremony are organised jointly with the European Commission. The work includes the organisation of the annual competitions and promotion of the Prize, the evaluation of applications, the organisation of the Awards Ceremony and Exhibition, PR on Winners, and the management and update of the European IST Prize web site.
