Resultado final

Public XML formats to represent UMTS services; UMTS radio bearers, traffic profiles, user mobility, pathloss grids, network configurations, and hardware properties: With the arrival of multi-service and multi-access networks, the need for a structured format containing all necessary information for describing a traffic / network scenario becomes more eminent. This result has been proven to be extremely useful in a multi-player environment, where exchange and re-use of information from several sources is important. It is easy extendable, and highly flexible while retaining its clarity. With the converters on the public website, its recommended when discussing traffic / network scenarios in future multi-player situations. The "Mathematical model for UMTS radio network planning" describes a concise but complete model for optimising UMTS radio networks. It focuses on the base station location and configuration, and the model employs mixed-integer variables and linear constraints. Furthermore, the documentation explains how to use the model as a basis for rating network configurations, which is a pre-requisite for exploiting the model in automatic network optimisation. "Automatic planning methods for UMTS radio networks" part of he Momentum project describes how the model can be tackled with mixed-integer programming methods. Its current implementation is still in R&D phase, and the required computing time urged the consortium to look for heuristics).
