Objective
NEWTIME's aim is to provide a factual basis for the specific modalities chosen for migration of micro-business IST networks from first generation low bandwidth, telework-enabled, networks towards networks with broadband IST at their core.
Objectives include:
- identifying the tools and techniques most valuable in new generation networks;
- identifying the individual technical and social skills needs emerging from first encounters between micro-businesses and high bandwidth access (ISDN, ADSL, SDSL, UMTS);
- reviewing the place of facilitation/mentoring;
- and linking to economic development and SME facilitation activities.
Development guidelines synthesised from NEWTIME results will be widely disseminated in the IST and product design communities and to early adopting micro-businesses.
