New solutions and practices in European LEATHER and TANNING industries

Objective

eLeather solution will create an electronic market bringing together buyers and suppliers of products: the creation of a virtual network, connecting all the actors involved in the leather value chain, will facilitate the communication/transactions among users. eLeather intends to develop an advanced integrated system that will give the E.U. leather and tanning community a quick, flexible access to services, from both the demand and supply side of any cog of the wheel within the leather market, thus reducing times, costs and environmental impacts in the whole supply chain. eLeather is based on an innovative marketplace concept and on the integration of innovative technologies consisting in tools for virtual marketplaces and business communities: a central feature of the work is the development of a virtual market place as mediation system, leading to the design of a new business model which will be specifically developed within the project to support new ways of trading and trade of new types of services.
