The method and corresponding working system doc@HOME (TM) is for remotely monitoring the health of a patient. The unique system consists of portable and remotely manageable Data Collection Units, secure communications environment, Data Warehouse and specialized software applications, has several advanced features compared to current state of the art:
- secure access to the system services via public low-cost communication channe;
- allows highly individualized and concurrent use of different care protocols
- user-specific data visualization and informational feedback to patients and doctors both on paper and screen
- individualized and/or coordinated messages to be sent from medical staff to the remote patient(s)
- remote configurability of the DCU for straightforward and effective deployment in changing care environment
- automation tools with customisation for individual patients for long-term trouble-free operation
Doc@Home service is provided in a manner that avoids risk for the client for up-front investment and later component redundancy. Doc@Home system is commercially available and readily scalable providing services for concurrent, medically specific patient care areas like cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, post-hospitalisation monitoring, elderly care etc. The system and corresponding manuals are in English, German, Finnish, Swedish and Estonian languages.
