Integrated software and methodology for the restoration and conservation of the cultural heritage

Objective

The project aims at developing an IST solution, a methodology and a specialised data-base on restoration and conservation of cultural heritage (historical-artistic, architectural, archaeological, environmental).

The research project, to foster the visibility of European cultural heritage and the solving of issues on inclusive and sustainable cultural and scientific collections and services, will focus first on a combined interaction of new SW tools on diagnostic analysis able to collect, organise, homogenise and standardise great quantities of input data and related images; secondly, on the standardisation of a methodological process allowing the selection of both the best conservation/restoration technique through the check of buildings 'restoration/conservation priorities and the best organisation of human/instrumental/economic resources; finally, on the creation of a data-base able to elaborate domain information at different levels of detail, through digital archiving applications.
