Objetivo The cost for PV applications depends for a considerable part on the price of the inverter. To produce inverters with lower prices, not only development cost has to come down, but also an important reduction of the component count is necessary. By replacing all control circuitry by one digital control unit, generating directly the PWM signal in real time, the component count of the inverter could drastically go down. However, the algorithm is to complex to calculate in real time. The proposed project consists in developing simplified PWM control algorithms that will fit in a fast micro controller and do the research towards the integration of the microcontroller and the A/D- converters in one entity. The resulting component could then control a complete inverter reducing both development and Compo- nent costs.
