Objective
Technical investigation and critical analysis of the flue gas treatment system installed at the Greve in Chianti plant.
The first step of the research program concerns the pollution monitoring of a large scale RDF gasification plant with on site combustion of the raw gas produced.
The plant to be monitored is the RDF gasification plant in Greve in Chianti (Tuscania) which is now under construction by Aerimpianti and which is scheduled to enter into operation within spring 1991. The first step of the research program will be carried out in two phases.
1) First phase
Description and analysis of the flue gas treatment system installed downstream the gas combustion system and the recovery boiler; comparison with other flue gas treatment systems: justification of the technical choice operated for the Greve in Chianti plant. The first phase is very important considering that at the Greve in Chianti plant the combustible raw gas coming from the RDF gasification is directly burned in the boiler without any clean-up treatment before combustion; the pollutant emissions reduction is therefore transferred exclusively to the flue gas treatment system downstream combustion.
2) Second phase
Test campaign for measuring the pollutant emissions of the Greve in Chianti plant; data processing; analysis of the processed data and their correlation with the operational process parameters as well as with the real compositions of the gasified RDF.
The first phase will start on January 1991 and will be completed within June 1991; this first phase will require some 150 man hours.
The second phase will be carried out in the second half of 1991 and will require some 1050 man hours.
