Objective
To reshape an existing small blast furnace for a new process : a melting coal gasifier coupled with a prereduction shaft for a production of 1000 T of hot metal per day.L%
The object is to produce hot metal with coal instead of coke as the reductant and energy source. Main cost saving is cause by avoiding investment and operation cost of producing coke. To collect data to rebuild existing B-F to this concept in order to make use of existing infrastructure of B-F. The part to be changed is the middle region of the furnace keeping charging and tapping system as it is. Proposers consider advantage of this process is to produce less gas.
