Objective
Expected Results of the Project: The Ottakringer Brauerei produces presently beer and beverages of about 50 + 16 millions liters per year. The discharge of production effluents is given with 130.000 - 160.000 m3 per year which makes about 11.500 m3 per month. Until today this amount of affluents will be discharged to the seewing system. The concept of the effluent treatment process is directed to recycle process water on the basis of selected segregated effluent streams of the different production units with certain water qualities (controlled by conductivity and/or turbitity). In the first and second stage of the project attention is given to the contaminated effluent streams, which will be segregated and collected from the different production units and treated by NF/RO techniques to recover it for recycling purposes. Water supply will be harmonized.
The application of membrane technology within this section is an innovative environmental technique for the down-stream treatment of process effluents (NF-/RO processes) to recover process water for re-use or recyclling as an economically and ecologically useful environmental measure with water management and balance and saving potential.
