Development of the production process of five ZEUS electrical vehicles and the testing of their behaviour in their real environment

Objective

The aim of this project is to officially validate the electrical vehicle ZEUS, to develop the industrialisation process in a plant with a 50 units/year capacity, and to study and check the reliability of the vehicles in the towns or living areas where the vehicles are to be sold.

The goal of this project is to develop the productive process to assembly ZEUS electrical vehicles. These vehicles will not pollute with their emissions, noise or exhaust gas, in their working environment. The ZEUS car will be tested to check their behavior in their real environment. For the assembly of the ZEUS car a plant needs to be set up. The plan should be prepared with the equipment and tools necessaries to produce the composite parts and to assembly all the components. The body of the car is made in composite to reduce the weight of the car. Therefore, the autonomy of the car will increase. For its production is necessary an oven that can reach 125 degrees Celsius, some freezers to keep the raw material and moulds to give the shape to the material. The vacuum technology is going to be used. In order to optimize the performance of the vehicle, an specific traction and control system has been designed. An individual battery charge controller has been developed to charge each battery in function of its unbalance with the rest of the battery pack. Therefore, the life of the batteries will be optimize because any battery will be overcharged. The ZEUS must be officially approved before it can run on the streets. The approval process will be subcontracted to an experienced company. This company is Integral Design and Development. This company is located in Barcelona. According to the calculations two months are necessary to assembly each car. Seven workers, two technicians, two managers and a director are necessary to control the project and produce the vehicles. The car has been designed in such a way that its cost should be 18.000 ECU once the process will be industrialized. Five ZEUS electrical vehicles will be assembled. They will be tested with some potential customers. The controllers and battery charge control will be tested and adjusted in the real working environment.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.
