Objective
DEVELOPMENT OF EXPLORATION CRITERIA BASED ON ADVANCED GEOCHEMICAL AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY.
THE PRINCIPAL AIM OF THIS JOINT PROJECT IS THE DEVELOPMENT OF EXPLORATION CRITERIA FOR GRANITE-ASSOCIATED MINERAL DEPOSITS BASED ON COMPARATIVE STUDIES IN CALEDONIAN AND HERCYNIAN TERRAINS IN EUROPE. SPECIAL EMPHASIS WILL BE PLACED ON THE FERTILITY OF THE PROTOLITHS AND DERIVED MAGMA, THE COMPOSITION OF FLUIDS INVOLVED IN MINERALIZATION AND THE ROLE OF LINEAMENTS.
MAIN AREAS OF INVESTIGATION WILL BE:
- COMPILATION OF ALL AVAILABLE DATA (GEOLOGICAL, REMOTE SENSED, GEOPHYSICAL, GEOCHEMICAL, MINERALOGICAL) IN DIGITAL FORM;
- SYSTEMATIC MINERALOGICAL, PETROGRAPHICAL, GEOCHEMICAL AND ISOTOPIC STUDIES OF THE GRANITES, THEIR HOST ROCKS AND PRESUMED SOURCE ROCKS;
- PHASE CHEMISTRY AND PETROGENETIC MODELLING TECHNIQUES TO ELUCIDATE THE MAGMATIC HISTORY OF THE GRANITES;
- INDICATOR OF HIGH TO LOW TEMPERATURE WATER-ROCK INTERACTION.
IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THIS JOINT PROJECT MAIN ACTIVITIES OF CREGU WILL BE CONCENTRATED ON THE MARCHE GRANITES OCCURRING ALONG A LINEAMENT AND CONTAINING U AND F DEPOSITS AS WELL AS AU AND MINOR SN MINERALISATION IN THE COUNTRY ROCKS. THE ECHASSIERE GRANITES WITH MINERALISATIONS OF W, SN, TA, LI WILL ALSO BE INVESTIGATED. THE FRENCH TEAM WILL ALSO BE RESPONSIBLE OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ROCK GEOCHEMISTRY AND MINERAL CHEMISTRY AND FOR THE ISOTOPIC AND FLUID INCLUSIONS STUDIES OF THE PROJECT.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
