Objective The Newer Member States are rapidly developing their metrological infrastructures. Traceability of measurements of the Spanish, Portuguese and Irish national metrology laboratories to those of the more established national metrology laboratories is an essential prerequisite for harmonised measurement results throughout the European Union. The objective of the project is therefore to establish and demonstrate the traceability in fields where it is most urgently required. This will be undertaken through 13 intercomparisons covering mass, pressure, volume, length, temperature of fixed points, temperature radiation scales, wavelength, DC and AC voltage, AC current, resistance, and capacitance. In addition, 4 training courses aimed at the improvement of the skills of technicians working in metrology will be undertaken (calibration of three coordinate measuring machines, the measurement of force using a dead weight machine and the calibration of force measurement standards, laboratory accreditation, verification of alcohol breath analyzers) Fields of science natural scienceschemical sciencesorganic chemistryalcohols Programme(s) FP3-MAT - Specific research and technological development programme (EEC) in the field of measurements and testing, 1990-1994 Topic(s) Data not available Call for proposal Data not available Funding Scheme CSC - Cost-sharing contracts Coordinator Instituto Português da Qualidade EU contribution No data Address 83A,Rua José Estevao 1199 Lisboa Portugal See on map Total cost No data Participants (1) Sort alphabetically Sort by EU Contribution Expand all Collapse all Instituto Geográfico Nacional Spain EU contribution No data Address S/N,Alfar - Políg.Ind.Sur Tres Cantos 28760 Madrid See on map Total cost No data
