DEVELOPMENT AND TEST OF MODELS TO PREDICT AND IMPROVE PERFORMANCES OF INDUSTRIAL FLOTATION PLANTS.

Objective

IMPROVE THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE BASIC PHENOMENA GOVERNING FLOTATION IN ORDER TO OPTIMISE INDUSTRIAL FLOTATION PLANTS DESIGN AND OPERATION.

THE RESEARCH WILL BE CARRIED ON THROUGH A COOPERATIVE RPOGRAMME BETWEEN BRGM AND WARREN SPRING LABORATORY.

SENSITIVITY OF FLOTATION PROCESSES TO ORE AND REAGENT VARIATION, TOGETHER WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF LABORATORY TEST METHODS TO CHARACTERISE AND PREDICT THESE EFFECTS AT PLANT SCALE.

DEVELOPMENT AND VERIFICATION OF TECHNIQUES TO CHARACTERISE THE ROUTE TO THE OPTIMUM REAGENT SELECTION FOR A RANGE OF MINERAL ORE TYPES.

VERIFICATION OF THE MODELS AND TECHNIQUES DEVELOPED, PARTICULARLY REGARDING STUDIES OF OPERATION TO GRINDING PROCESSES AND PLANT FLOWSHEET INVESTIGATION.

INVESTIGATION INTO THE ROLE OF PROCESSES OPERATING IN FLOTATION FROTHS IN RELATION TO THE MODELLING OF PLANT PERFORMANCE.

INVESTIGATION OF LIBERATION IN RELATION TO FLOTATION CELL PERFORMANCE.

EXPANSION OF THE USE OF MATERIAL BALANCES IN PLANT STUDIES, PARTICULARLY COST/EFFECTIVENESS AND IMPLEMENTATION ON SMALL (MINI) COMPUTERS.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
