Objectif
REDUCTION IN THE AG CONTENT IN CONTACTORS OF SUBSTITUTION OF OTHER MATERIALS. ELIMINATION OF AG IN CONTACTORS BY THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW-TYPE CONTACTOORS CONTAINING OTHER MATERIALS.
THE RESEARCH PROGRAMME WILL CONSIST OF FOUR MAIN STAGES. AFTER A LITERATURE SURVEY, EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH WILL BE CARRIED OUT IN THE LABORATORIES OF THE TWO PARTNERS.* IT WILL INCLUDE IMPROVED SILVER CONTAINING MATERIALS, WITH NEW ADDITIVES, FOR OPERATION IN AIR. THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROGRAMME IS TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF OPERATIONS FOR A GIVEN NUMBER OF OPERATIONS.
AT THE SAME TIME, ENTIRELY NEW MATERIALS WILL BE DEVELOPED FOR CONTACTORS AND INDUSTRIAL RELAYS USING NEW TECHNOLOGIES, I.E. OPERATING IN CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERES, IN VACUUM OR IN INSULATING LIQUIDS.
MATERIALS DEVELOPED BY THE METALLURGICAL LAB WILL BE TESTED ON EXISTING COMPLEMENTARY SIMULATION EQUIPMENT. REALISTIC TESTING CONDITIONS WILL BE DEFINED SO AS TO REDUCE THE NUMBER FO TESTS AND THE RESEARCH COST. ALL TESTS WILL BE PERFORMED WITH REFERENCE TO PURE SILVER, FOR COMPARAISON PURPOSES.
AT THE END OF THIS STAGE, A LIST OF THE EDVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES WILL BE DRAWN UP TO ALLOW COMPARISONS TO BE MADE BETWEEN THE NEWLY DEVELOPED MATERIALS, TAKING INTO ACCOUNT MULTIPLE EVALUATION CRITERIA: EROSION, WELDING TENDENCY, CONTACT RESISTANCE, ETC.
AFTER COMPLETION OF THIS STAGE, TEST SAMPLES OF THE NEWLY DEVELOPED CONTACTS WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE TO INTERESTED EEC MANUFACTURERS FOR INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY TESTS.
