Objective
The combined R&D and demonstration proposal EUCLID-POWER addresses Key Action 5.1: "Large scale electricity generation" with Deliverable 5.1.2:" More efficient energy conversion processes". Main issues addressed:
- reduction in CO2, other emissions in electric power generation by 1) higher overall efficiencies (15-20% 2) use of CO2-neutral fuels (optional);
- reduction of specific investment cost (<1.100 Euro/kW) and cost of electricity (20 %) to promote market penetration of the IGCC power generation technology;
- creation of new jobs (up to 4000 per new plant) in the EU by providing replication and export opportunities of the newly developed and demonstrated advanced 3rd generation IGCC technology for electric power generation; securing of existing jobs in Czech Republic
- linking EU-wide co-operation of R&D institutions and CCT end-users.
