Objective
The purpose of PAPER is to demonstrate a pyrolysis plant running on a industrial scale to take advantage of the energy generated by waste derived from the production of recycled paper and which is applicable to any waste of similar characteristics. The waste is generated during the industrial processes of breaking down and purifying the paper pulp obtained from used paper. 80% of the cellulose is recovered and the waste generated consists fundamentally of polyethulene, aluminium (from liquid board packaging) and a small amount of fibre. The industrial pyrolysis plant will be designed to treat 36.000 ton per year of waste in order to produce steam that will be used directly in the manufacture of recycled paper or will be sent to a condensation steam turbine generating electricity.
