Objective
- To demonstrate: The technical and economical feasibility to produce heat and power from wood and wood-waste from medium sized units (~ 500 kWe); The reliability, the energy efficiency and the operational performance of the first oil free lubricated modular steam engine to convert steam to electricity;
- To optimise heat recovery from the CHP unit through the combination of steam and hot water uses in process heat and district heating.-To realise a reference plant for the European market of the wood processing industry and for the exports of CHP biomass technologies;
- To set-up a new "turn key service" for the production of energy from biomass for a world sized company that chooses bioenergy as a strategic medium term option;
- To establish an exemplary partnership between the private and public sectors for the valorisation of local resources (wood waste from wood processing industries and municipal waste management) and for the use of district heating.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
