Solar Air-Conditioning for Buildings, Demonstration, Analysis and Assessment

Objective

Over the last few year, a few prototypes have been built in Europe (France, Spain, Germany) and they have made it possible to validate the techniques in specific conditions. The monitoring campaigns have revealed possible improvements and ways in which the costs could be reduced; these improvements can now be applied. Furthermore, the quality of solar collectors for high temperature applications (vacuum tubes) has greatly increased. Therefore, the aim is to show the way in which solar systems + sorption can provide an answer to the specific needs for comfort in the most common building types: hotels, offices end health establishments. This demonstration project involves building and analysing the working order of 10 representative installations in Spain, France and Luxembourg. The systems will use Known components: vacuum tube collectors and ab- or ad-sorption cooling machines that are available on the market to-day.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
