Objective
The seismic data acquisition system POLYSEIS based on radio transmission has been studied in order to simplify and generalize the "3D" technique on one hand in the urbanized area and on the other hand in areas with difficult access such as the transition zones between sea and land.
R&D being completed, there remains now, previous to industrialization, to prove the technical and economical viability on a sufficiently large scale.
An oil operator (NAM) has agreed to carry out a demonstration on one of their licences in the Netherlands. In its essence, the project consists in the realization of seismic acquisition by substituing the POLYSEIS equipment to the conventional equipment originally foreseen by NAM in the course of a seismic survey already programmed.
The comparison between the results obtained with the conventional techniques and the POLYSEIS system will allow to draw a statement.
The demonstration of the system has been achieved in Netherlands on June and July 1995 with NAM and CGG as contractor. This demonstration has been a success for the Polyseis equipment.
