Objective
A new electrohydraulic control system for subsea wellhead is based on a module called "Teleoperateur de vanne" (TOV). The TOV are linked to a network and constitute a distributed control system. The TOV module development is finished and the next phase is its qualification.
The purpose of the project is to qualify this module in an operational environment. The trials'programme as agreed by oil companies within this project, relies on three fundamental aspects :
- TOV operations in an actual environment and in limit conditions.
- ability for the module to be easily installed and retrieved by light means such as ROV or diver
- long term trials, to verify the high reliability of the TOV.
Land tests and shallow water tests completed. Long term qualification tests achieved
The installation will be composed of :
- An Xmas tree simulation equipped with two production valves and one sensor, and receiving a panel on which two TOVs will be attached, each one controlling a valve. This assembly will be fixed on a subsea structure, submerged near a quay.
An umbilical.
A complete surface unit in a shelter.
The application will include :
- Functional tests
- ROV or diver operability
- Long term testing.
This phase will last at least six months and will also include a demonstration of ROV or diver operability.
