Objective
The 12ø Meeting of Directors of Fisheries Research Organisations of the European Union will take place in Vigo, Spain, during 5 days in early June 2002, coinciding with the Spanish Presidency of EU. As in previous meetings, each Member State Fishery research organisation will be represented by 2 members. Representatives of the Commission (4), invited keynote speakers (4) and representatives from the fishing industry will participate as well, This will be the 12th of a series of Meetings dedicated to the dialogue between fisheries research organisations represented by their Directors-, the Commission and the fishing industry and other stakeholders.
The main issues related to research on fisheries and aquaculture in the EU will be addressed and discussed during the programmed sessions of the meeting. The topics to deal with will be grouped under this headings: 1 6th UE Framework programme: Implications for fisheries and aquaculture research.
