Aqua-Flow: European network for the dissemination of aquaculture RTD information

Objective

OBJECTIVES AND EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS Aqua-Flow is a well-established network of leading aquaculture institutions in Europe, which has been under development since January 1998 as a FAIR project (FAIR-CT97-3837). To-date, this network has disseminated 62 single-page documents, hereafter referred to as technical leaflets (TL), in 14 languages across 17 European countries to an estimated 150 000 aquaculture SME end-users. Each technical leaflet contains aquaculture RTD information summarising EU-funded projects written in an accessible, easy to read, producer-oriented language.

End-users across the entire aquaculture industry have reacted positively to their content. Projects summarised in the technical leaflets have been funded under EU AIR, FAIR and CRAFT programmes. The new Aqua-Flow project further develops, expands and rationalises the network in order to broaden the scope of disseminated information, thus further keeping SME informed of Aquaculture RTD.
