Objective
The objective is to identify an appropriate allocation of resources to collection to support fishery management issues. The present structures involve considerable commitment of human and financial resources.
The CA will analyse advice categories and review all data presently routinely collected. It will evaluate the performances of assessments for a range of stocks, as well as the usefulness of the corresponding scientific advises for management. It will provide an evaluation of the scope for improvements, and identify a limited set of stocks and issues, for which the potential benefits of alternate strategies will be analysed. It will carry out an in depth analysis of possible alternate schemes.
Expected results are a basis for rationalising collection of data essential for the CFP, and methods to improve the reliability and usefulness of the scientific advice for fisheries management.
