Excitation-contraction coupling in the heart: regulmation of the calcium-release-chanel (crc) by post-translational modifications.

Objective

The CRC plays a key role in excitation-contraction coupling, in the heart. The amount of Ca2+ that is released from the SR dictates the force of contraction. Elucidation of CRC regulation, at the molecular level, will enable us to design clinically-helpful agents that modulate cardiac contraction.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.
