Objective
The role of zinc and metallothionein in preventing vascular endothelial cell apoptosis induced by pro-atherogenic dietary factors will be studied at whole animal, cell culture and molecular levels. Studies will focus on the modulation of signalling mechanisms in human and transgenic mouse cells.
