Objective
This workshop has been proposed to address the variation in familial breast cancer management across Europe. Currently there is no cohesive approach to the advice given on risk levels and the management of those at high risk. One woman in 12 suffers breast cancer by the age of 70, thus many women need advice on familial risk. The proposal aims to host a two day workshop attended by specialists linked with familial breast cancer from Member and Associated States. The workshop has two objectives;
1) to debate and agree the foundation for familial breast cancer management guidelines, to be published by the European Society of Mastology (EUSOMA) and
2) to formulate trial/study outlines and establish Europe-wide partnerships to carry out such work.
